General Convention 2006

Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling. Then I will go to the altar of God, and I will praise you . . . Psalm 43:3-4

The General Convention of the Episcopal Church
met in Columbus, Ohio from June 11-21, 2006.
This blog offers a view of the convention and beyond from the perspective of Lydia Evans, a two-time lay deputy from the Diocese of South Carolina.

The Blue Book is here (and it's Green!)

The famous General Convention Blue Book arrived in my mailbox during Holy Week. Talk about timing! I definitely did not need another distraction in a week in which all my attention should be focused on the Cross.

I tried to resist. But like a bowl of rich, creamy Bluebell ice cream, I was powerless. I had to get inside and go to work with my highlighter. What resolutions from the CCABs were bound to generate lots of attention at this convention?

By the way, this convention's Blue Book is actually a Green Book -- with an optimistic theme to match -- Come and Grow.
